oh yes JW and I still carry the scars on my one leg . a long line of one that the scar cream they gave me did not make it go away . I was at the flea market yesterday and there was a copperhead that had to be captured by one of the flea market stand oners . He caught it fast and put it in a large garbage can the flea market owners had . He was going to shoot it but was afraid that the bulet might scater hiting the gravel in the parking area or worse injure someone with a rock flying . This is the 3rd time that has happened . 2 times my sister and I were there some one drove right into the flea market wall and went inside with a truck . We were lucky this time to get away in time and lucky I did not park my truck at the end of the row or he might have hit my truck also . a couple of months ago . My sister and I were there talkng to Peggy who ones a stand in the flea market when I heard an engine racing and looked and we just got out of the way in time . The driver was drunk and went into the flea market almost 80 feet . Took out the door where we were standing and the concrete block wall and a picnic table

That's why I like it here in Washington on the west side of the mountains as no poisonous creatures! Other stuff is crap here but we can't talk about that on here.

Well best i like and hate about moving from NJ to Va . Is NJ was called the garden state for reason rich soil . In VA you get clay soil that is acidic ad needs lots of care to get it softened up . Other is taxes 12 grand a year in NJ for an acre and here over 3 acres just over thousand a year . But I have wavers arm . Every one waves to you here . I can get tiring at times but nice also . Even when you are driving the wave to you . I do miss my friends in NJ . But I don't miss the traffick . SORRY HAMSTERMANN I think we high jacked your your post . . But it is really interesting to find info on here about different states where we live and lived . Interesting also to see so many ideas on pond builds and how the survive cold and heat in different states . Here we get terrible polin from all the pine trees and it coats everything green . You can was a car and 10 minutes later it is covered again in it Even driveways get covered in it and you can see car tracks in it

No worries. It's good to form friendships on here and chat. I hear you on the clay - that's what we have here in northern Utah too. Ours can be salty since a lot of this state was Lake Bonneville thousands of years ago. We just keep amending with compost and that helps a ton. It solves a lot of issues - drainage, nutrient deficiencies, and more. Soil in my yard was tested and said to be a loam texture but I'm not sure I gathered the sample correctly - I think I had too much mulch from the top of the ground and not enough of the regular soil a foot down. What you send is supposed to be a mix of 1 foot deep cores from lots of places around the yard so they get an "average" soil from your yard and I'm not sure I dug deep enough.
