My wife and I are from WVA we have 2 ponds and have enjoyed this hobby for 11 years. Our first pond was a preformed 200 gallon pond someone gave my wife as a gift, after a few years and a lot of learning we just had to have a bigger pond.We built another pond it's 1100 gallons and we are planning to build a 4 or 5000 gallon pond in the near future. We spend alot of time taking care of and enjoying our ponds and koi,we hand feed them daily.I'm going to try to post a few pics.I can only post 1 pic due to the very small limit,I took the pictures with my camera set on postcard as small as it gets I never had problems posting that size pics before.

I'm not sure what you mean? I have several lillies and various plants in the pond and the wife planted flowers of various types around it.I can't keep hyacinths the koi eat them as fast as you throw them in.Here is a few more pics of plants. At least they look like plants to me ?

I believe DrDave was asking if you were going to have more green. Kinda like this

My filter is a 2200 GL Laguna pressure flow with uv.This filters backwash function really works, unlike some others I've tried.Pond lady and Drdave I don't think I'm going to have quite as much green as you do.Nothing wrong with your pond It's just not what I want.I do have more plants around my pond than you see in the pics but not nearly as many as pond lady.

Pondlady hit it in the head. Natural looking ponds have a lot of greenery both in and around them. It is all a matter of preference, no right or wrong. I was just asking the question since this was a fairly new pond.

I have spent the past 2 years developing and growing a variety of plants around mine to make it look more natural and offer shade to the fish.

I agree with Drcase I think we all have nice ponds there just different, ponds would be boring if they all looked the same.
