Hello, my name is Joy and I have been lurking and reading on this forum since 2018. I live in the high desert in Southern California. I have lived in my home for 37 years and have had a pond since the first year. I started off with little plastic kiddy pools. It is amazing what goldfish can live in.

My current pond is a 17 foot ski boat partly buried. My thinking that went into setup was, I have very fond memories about this boat but it has been sitting in my yard for 2 years so probably not going out to a lake with it, but if a boat floats on water and doesn’t leak in, then I should be able to fill it with water that won’t leak out and put plants and goldfish and polliwogs/frogs and a turtle in it. It’s been about 15 to 20 years now so my thinking was correct.

I will post pictures in other posts if I can figure out how, I don’t usually use social media, email, and I absolutely hate texting.

Welcome @Dragonfly ranch

Interesting idea about the boat. Eager to see some pictures.

Do you happen to have expertise on dragonfly's?

I have a question I'm trying to get answered re dragonflys.

Be nice we want her to stick around and join in here and sometimes you do bite too hard :joyful:
I’ve lurked here long enough to know the regular posters are a great knowledgeable group. I have also figured out how to decipher GBBUDD’s typing. I do need help with how to post pictures, not at all tech savvy but tech adverse, never had a computer until I got my iPad in 2012.

Photo's are easy. Just go on your computer where you store your photo's and see that box below on this post where it says Attach files? Click on that and choose a photo from your computer and then when it shows up here in a box ,click full image and then it will be on your post. Video's you have to go to Youtube and become a member and then you can upload to youtube and post them here. Have to choose to show to public tho or they won't show up here.
