As the crow flies, close to 2 miles, but haven’t officially mapped or timed the commute. Maybe a 5 minute drive, in good traffic.

It does make it a little easier than having to move to another state. Especially when you have animals to move.

When I was a kid my parents bought a house that was just one street over from where we lived. But because it was in another city we had to change schools.

I moved from California to Massachusetts, not the first big move either, so I am done. When I can't handle winter anymore, I may just move again. @Mmathis I hope you like moving.

Makes two of us, glad I'm not in your shoes.
We have 23 years of stuff and junk to go through and mostly purge. And with our son now living in Utah, there’s still a lot of his stuff here that he’s probably not ever going to claim, but stuff we can’t get rid of. Yeah, it’s exciting, but not exciting at the same time!

Will you be putting the yard back to "normal" grass plants etc, turtle bog etc gone? For the sale of the house?

Most likely. If it works out, we thought about transporting the dirt from the new build, to fill in the old pond. Told Hubby that I want to keep all my rocks! Same for turtle habitat.
