Hi. I'm a total pond newbie. We inherited a wildlife pond with our house and I've been on a pond learning curve ever since. We have a few aquatic baskets around the pond which are mostly water iris, some grass/es, water primrose, water lillies and from what I can tell some water mint. One of the baskets looks very overgrown with moss. Should I just get rid of this one / clear it out for something else?

Welcome to the forum. Depends on your goals/aesthetic. I don't mind a some natural growth myself but if it starts interfering with the centerpiece plant I want, I trim it away. Comes down to how natural you want the pond to be. I also like to have moss growing around the pond on the edges/rocks; often you can transplant into another suitable area.

Moss, yes can takeover! I like some but at times it gets removed if it becomes the leader of the pack. Looks good on rocks and here and there but in pots it gets gone if too much!

Thanks all. That's very helpful. I think I'll remove a bit of it from that particular section as it's been unchecked for some time I'm guessing.
