I designed it for easy cleaning. I have a 2" dump valve in the bottom. All the sludge gathers in the bottom so when the valve is opened, it flows out first. I have a large hose attached to it so I can divert it into bushes. After about 30 seconds, I close the valve and its' done. It takes me longer to walk to the pump switch and close the antisiphon valve that it takes to clean it. There are 7000 1.5" long pieces of 1/2" irrigation tubing it it for the bacteria to gather and grow on. It cleared my pond up in 2-3 days till crystal clear from dark brown.

When I get time, I'll post some pictures of it. I took progress pictures as I built it. This forum does not allow JPG files so I have to convert everything to PDF files that are under 800 x 600 and 3.1MB before they will upload.
