I spray painted it, then placed some rocks around, hid it nicely. (my stream piping) Once I change out the pond pump those pipes are getting a paint dressing.

Thanks! It has kept me busy for the last 8 years (I think it has been that long, can't remember) and I have enjoyed almost every minute of it. Now I am planning on building some sort of dock on the pond. Laying out those plans now, I think it drives my wife crazy b/c I can't just leave it alone. I was up in the bog the other day moving the gravel around and I told her it was like a big sandbox almost like a zen garden.

Well at least she's not playing in your sandbox! Hate to think what my pond would look like if my husband moved my rocks, there might be beer cans in the sand, seen what happened after he planted his side of the fence. Ha ha! I know where every rock goes, and they have to be played with every year, have to be careful that the plants don't out shine the rocks! :)

You have done a great job! It is beautiful. Kentucky is a beautifully green place too. We are out in Louisville every year, have done the bourbon trail and driven through horse country by Versailles, I love it every time.

LOL, Same here Tmann--my wife just cant understand how I can spend so much time on the pond, patio, and the rest of our landscapeing--I move rocks and plants around to make it match the blueprints in my head, but since I'm constantly updating and altering my plans I'm never finished--it becomes a stress relieving addiction that I love doing and she doesnt, lol.

Plus another one, but it is my husband who deosn't understand. Sometimes he says I love the yard and pond more than him. I keep telling him it will get easier over time as I complete things and will be less work. But I always find more to do LOL. I have to make it a point to save time for him.

its ok pecan, my wife feels the same way :) but lets be honest with ourselves, we'll never be done, as I'm sure Todd won't be either, even if you run out of space, there's always something that can be changed!

Todd the bog looks really nice! Came out very natural looking! I see you did the rock stacking as well. :) I was reading back and read about the treated wood. I don't allow wood to get in the water. I've always just built the deck or pier over the water and secure the back legs throughly in concrete to support most of the weight. If you must use legs in the pond you may want to see if you can locate plastic beams. i've seen a few places that were using them in construction and they lool like they would be safer to use than treated wood. They can still be screwed to or bolted and lots less chance of any contaminants in the water. As for the fish injuring themselves on the wood. i doubt that will be a problem, it gets slimy pretty fast and the edges just arent that sharp.

I told my dear husband about my plans for the next pond last night. He said "why don't you tell your new husband about it?" cause he wont be digging another one by hand. No worries, I'll just rent some big power tools for him to play with. :)

Yeah, there was no way I was digging it with a shovel, our dirt if that is what you want to call is all clay. It is somewhere around that, might be a big smaller than 3k, b/c the bottom has different levels.
