Yeah I didn't realize that until after I uploaded them to the pc but didn't feel like going back out and retaking.

Well I decided to tear out the deck, it was going to be to high off the water and block too much view from the different vantage points from the house and patio. So I decide to do a bridge to the other side. Still need to finish some landscaping and mulch in front of the pond where I started the deck. Now my wife can sit on the bridge hang her feet in the water and let the fish nibble on them!

Todd, I think I like the bridge a lot better than the deck. It fits the landscaping very well. Are you planning on leaving it flat or putting rails up? the one on my old pond was flat, and more than once I or someone else ended up in the pond. Right before we shut that pond down the wife was helping remove the wire nets and she missed the bridge completely. needless to say, she has requested rails for the gazebo this time. Looks really nice, I think the rock steps at the end add to it as well,

Larkin I am going to leave it flat. Once it weathers gray like my other bridge it will blend in better.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Great looking pond and landscaping Taher, nice attention to detail.
Probably too late now, but one way of speeding up the weathering proccess of wood is to paint it with a strong bleach solution and leave in the sun for a few days, then power wash it clean. Not something you want to do over the pond. Adds about 10 or 20 years to the wood, or should I say it takes away 10 or 20 years??? lol

Well, I went through the whole thread and you did a simply amazing job! I thought I was the only "obsessed" gardener!!! These first two pics are of my future woodland garden on August 20, 2009. And the next two are the same area in June 2010, a whopping nine months later. I did all the hardscaping, planting, pathways, all of it in that short period of time. Knowing you're on the local garden tour in June of 2010 probably helped push me to get it all done!! But like you, I get one project done while having a new one in my head....

Doug

I don't mind rails on the bridges as long as they are open rails .I like to sit on my bridge and put my toes in the water and laugh at the fish as they think it is food .To many bridges are so closed in you feel like you are in a cage .For safety I can understand closed in but for me I like open .

Larkin I am not going to put up any rails, I want to keep it open.

Doug you could define me as obsessed with my garden. I am like you where I am always thinking of the next thing I am going to do. This weekend I am going to pull out most of my cattails in my creek and attempt to make a trickle tower where the water enters that same creek.

Sissy it is only my wife, my dog and I that I have to worry about falling in so no biggie.

Pecan thanks! Can't wait for the bridge to weather gray and it will then blend in with the other bridge and rocks more.
