lol JB we have a toad eating the live bees, the opossum just snacks on the dead ones.

We put the hive up on one of those plastic shelves you buy at home depot. too high for them to jump up onto. No toads since then.

Yep, I see. I missed that post. :)

Took a nice hike at Scuppernong Springs Nature Trail today. A tradition. While I still do hikes around town all Winter long at local parks including the one I live next to, Scuppernong Springs is considered the finale to the season. I hike it every year a week or two after the final camping trip. I then stop at The Elegant Farmer on the way back for the best apple pie ever.

Husband found this little guy hitchhike from an auction in the floor of his truck...

dont know what to do with him yet... he's so cute! (assuming he's a he)

I've never seen a green tree frog in a wild before.

I'm going to let him out when it's a little warmer in the day. now is too cold :)


I actually saw a monarch flying by today too! a stray one before cold!


AND ALSO A HERON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEXT TO MY POND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good thing my pond has a leaf net over it right now. I'll have to consider some other type of net now....

seeing all kind of stuff today... :)
(I'm working from home today... cough too much to go to work and get other people sick...)

Yep @Nepen it sounds like a high up wide weave net is in your future. I am so at peace w/mine.

Went outside again to see the Supermoon tonight. Took this photo and used two separate exposures to bring out the detail of the moon. One of my favorite compositions this year.
