Picked up a few more pond plants yesterday. Pink Pickeral Rush is planted in a large container in cat litter in the middle of the pond. It’s sitting on another container and is about 14” deep. Also got some Lemon Bacopa and Rain Lily. I know these latter two are not good for my zone but oh well.

Still have not hidden the edge of the liner as I have four big stones to place and didn’t want to tackle that without them being close to in place.

Thanks everyone. I am enjoying the process and while it definitely takes time, it is rewarding. We have a first bud on our lily and hopefully with the nice weather this week it’ll open.

Picked up some more plants for the pond yesterday, some water hyacinth and also some water cress at the grocery store as everyone says it grows well!

To do today:

Place large boulders around pond edge.
Add small stones along edge to hide liner.
Pickup the driftwood log finally (maybe tonight when everyone is watching fireworks).

Pond has cycled nicely. It was going a tea brown just over a week ago then went to a green and had concerns that something might by spiking. Could not see the bottom any longer. Over the last couple days water started to improve and this morning it’s all clear. I guess the plants finally kicked in, now I just need the plants to really grow and/or multiply.

Added a few more large stones with the one at the bottom of this pic being a “sitting stone”.

Two more stones place near the skimmer and will need to tweak these a bit plus add soil to hide the skimmer better.

Thanks @addy1, it’s slowly coming together. The water hyacinth was driving me a bit crazy with getting stuck at the skimmer so I added this temporarily.

Plus I then remember floating options to corral them together. My wife came up with this idea and it was only a quick trip to Ace and about $5 including hose and connector. It’s tied with fishing line to a stone in the deep area of pond.
