New pond - what plants UK

Hi
The new pond is filled with water, no fish. I have a few plants in already 2 types of lilly, watercress, reed and mint.
What plants will help keep blanket weed and green algae away?

hi tonyg44, i dont think there is a specific plant that will keep blanket weed and algae at bay but a LOT of plants in general will help with green water and algae, they are all part of your pond maturing and going through its cycle, hope this helps cheers mark

I've found my ponds in shade have less algae than those in full sun. Plants haven't helped much in mine, but the one in sun has fish which cause the water to discolour. Try to refrain from adding tap water as is just delays the ponds natural way of clearing.
