All I can go by is I tossed some in tied to a rock, they have barely grown and it has been a few years now. The ones in kitty litter out grow their pots almost every year and bloom constantly.

I tried something 2 years ago with extra lily tubers! I put them in my farm pond, in shallow water. Some I put in large pots (holes in the bottoms) and others I shoved into the mud. No clue which ones are growing, but there are some GORGEOUS huge deep pink blooms out there! Now I just need to remove the cattails from in front of them, so I can see them more often. LOL Guessing they really like the mud/muck in the farm pond.

Neat they will love that, natural mud, nutrients grow as big as they want to. Great idea!

I don't have a farm pond...........:(
