Got mailed a ton of water lily rhizomes with roots. Planted them with roots down instead of roots sideways. Will nature find a way or do I need to pull them up and turn them?

It's fine if the roots are down as long as the grow tip where the leaves grow is above ground.
Thank you :)

Some of them I couldn’t tell where the leaves were meant to grow but I planted six total and most of them I could see the leaves so I should be doubling my water lilies if all goes well!

I think in the attached picture you can see 1.5 lilies

My parents had a neighbor who was planting tulips for the first time. My dad convinced her they were all upside down so she dug them all up. Guess what - they’ll all grow.
