Addy, I've already told you how much I love that Georgia Peach lily I got from you. Check out what it did today! This one came in with yellow hues! I'm sure it's on the same plant, so wondering where the yellow came from, but I LOVE it! I've wanted a yellow lily, and this is just icing on the cake! My camera shows the 2 flowers more pink than they really look, so the yellow one looks more pale pink, but it's really yellow with a hint of the peach on the outer edges.

Pretty pretty pretty ce, I love all my lilies. Suckers have grown crazy again, I didn't think I would divide them for at least a year, but they are growing huge so most likely will.
I have some that are just pale yellow, not sure if I sent any of those to you or not. But will have extras if I divide them this fall.

georgia peach and colorado, The goergia peach changes tones as it opens, each day slightly different.

the pink, colorado, the yellow orangish, georgia peach, the pale yellow white, then the pink a mayla.

Wow, that's why this is my favorite lily, Addy. Love the chameleon of colors it provides. This is the first time it has shown the yellow coloring, so I was thrilled! Glad it's normal, and will continue to do that. In my other pond, where I put the other Georgia Peach, that one had 7 blooms on it earlier this week, but they opened while I was at work, darn it. It has 4 now, with 2 more getting ready to open up. Yep, that is a keeper for sure!
I'm looking for a really true yellow, deep color, if you ever come across one like that! Thinking I will need to get rid of some that I'm not as fond of in the spring, and go with more colors, or plants that will really be showy! Now that I know about the fertilizer issue (at least now I finally remembered it!), I think my lilies will bloom better and longer. :)

lol my lilies are like my fish, I can't just get rid of them, even if not perfect. But the ones I have all bloom great and look great. The biggest problem is when I divide them, can't just trash them.............might need a lily pond next

Well, I totally agree with you, Addy, I'll be selling (going to try Craig's List next spring) or giving them away (on here!) the ones that I have too many of the same color. Try to keep one of every type, that way I can add more of what I want (like the King of Siam, and got a night bloomer - Red Flare) and add others as I go. I don't want my ponds totally covered with lilies, and right now I've had to move them off the shelves as they got too crowded, and think when they are all fully grown, they will be covering around 60% of the pond. I noticed that I have about 5 plants that are a deep pink variety, but the blooms are multi-colored pink, going from pale to deep. I like it, but not 5 plants of it. LOL Have a white, but it's a small bloom, so may just keep one of them and try to find a larger blooming white one. You know, make some color decisions like that! It's more fun when you know you can swap out and get new. :)

I don't like to use craigslist, don't really like having strangers come to the house when I am here alone. (even though I shoot very well lol) Rather just give them away.
Our house, etc are nicely hidden away in this little rural community, going to keep it that way, under the radar lol

Well, that's a really good point, Addy, as I'm alone as well. Maybe I'll rethink that! I always first offer them on here, so that worked really well this year. Wish there were people close that I knew that I could give them to as well. Friend is coming tomorrow to see my landscaping. She has more than her hands full with her flower and vegetable gardening, and I know she will love my ponds, and want one someday. But, she is due to have her first baby in November, so having something more to take care of like a pond will be more than she can handle for now. But, can always hope! She winter sows seeds, has tons of flowers, veges, etc. that she grows from seeds, and is going to bring me a "jug" of pampas grass and I'm going to share some of the Karly Rose with her. :)

My honey is home evenings and weekends, but it only takes one yuck person to cause issues.

I had my neighbors on alert when I was selling off my husbands stuff after he died. They did not like me having people come over when alone at the house. I planted loaded guns here and there.............lol never let anyone come into the house. Never let any of them know I was there by myself. Hate being that way, but a necessary evil. I am not paranoid, just very careful a fine difference. Honey says I trust to easily, easy target, health care workers tend to be that way, care givers.

Those are really pretty taro, Addy, and when I called my black ones taro, I wonder if that's correct. I guess I thought the taro were smaller versions of elephant ears, is that correct?
Also, that's a black swallowtail on your lilies taking a drink ... CUTE ... and that was an amazing tiger swallowtail on your other flowers earlier pic.
When I was a kid, I used to run around in clover fields with my butterfly net, trying to catch pretty butterflies. I mounted some of the prettier ones. My mom actually framed these for me when I was an adult and gave it to me! Probably her way of saying, "I threw away the rest of your dead butterflies, but preserved these nicer ones for you." LOL

Then she painted this on glass and framed it to go with the other butterfly picture. I have them both in my main bathroom.

I posted the mounted butterfly pic because I was ever so proud of that tiger swallowtail butterfly! I spent many hours attempting to capture a nice one, usually seeing them high in the trees in the woods. So, to this day, when I see one, I smile and have fond memories of those good 'ole days!

You can donate your excess lily bulbs to the horticulture society in the spring for sale, they will sell them and the money will go to benefit that society. I have done that before and I just drop the extra bulbs and stuff off at the meeting place. Most cities I think have some sort of Horticultural Society. :)

Thanks for clarification of taro and elephant's ear, Addy. And, I didn't mean to not answer your question about your yellow lily. I'm actually looking for deep yellow this time, but thanks! I have a white with yellow center which I'll keep one of, too.
Colleen, near me, we have the Illinois Extension Center, which is similar to maybe what you are talking about. They do have a plant sale every spring, and I never thought about donating the bulbs for that, but it's a great idea! The only bad thing is if no one has a water garden, then they will go to waste. I guess I could let them know to contact me to pick them back up if no one bought them, though!
