Good grief, that yellow flag must be sucking up lots of pond nutrients, cause just look at how big it is now! Just love my pond, fish are swimming so fast now and they follow me everywhere around the ponds, begging for more dog food!!

Next week I should have the front pond and stream all done...

Yes Colleen your iris is so big and gorgeous the way it floats in its big island! Someday I may have one big bunch like that I'm hoping.
My Yellow Flag is blooming and parrots feather is coming back.
Fish are happy w/ their gator monster protecting them :cheerful:

Looking real good JW! I see your yellow flag is blooming nice, mine should be blooming next month, we are a little behind with everything, but yours will always bloom before mine as you have such a nice climate, even if it does rain all the time. Your yellow flag is a much smaller clump then mine, but then I have been growing and cutting away at it to for over 21 years now.

Sissy, Puddles is going to have a fit when he wakes up and discovers his family jewels are gone! Too bad they just couldn't tie off the flow or whatever they do to humans. I cried my eyes out when Poppy had to get fixed, Bear got lucky and hubby refused to let Bear have his cut off... men! it's OK for the females... But Bear is fine with his, never humps Poppy and never runs away, but if there is a female on the block in heat, he wines for days... hubby want's to get him a "girlfriend" before he gets to old so we can have a couple puppies in the future.

I would so love to clone my puppies but the cost would be way to high.. I will have Poppy for a long while, and I just can't think about anything happening to the puppies right now, must have Poppy forever ....

Today by the pond, fish were STARVED!! They were eating up a storm. My dearest best friend, been friends since we were kids, way way back, came to see my pond today. We had a tea and looked at the nice flowers....

I just HaD to HaVE it! Me and my mom were out shopping in Redcliff, a small town five minutes out of town, where they are notorious for having the best garden junk at this Home hardware store ever! It was absolute emergency and I just had to have it.... it was the last one in that color, and the store lady said they were going FAST!! The Outrageously high price did not deter me, not even going to admit that I may have spent 100 dollars! It is a good thing I do not go out shopping often, my mother was right there, as my accomplice, helping me get it into the cart.... it was her fault, she told me to take her there.... that's what I will tell the hubby ha ha ha ha!!!

Yes, thanks Sissy, now I don't feel bad for paying 100 dollars, and it is all metal, so it should last quite a while. I love metal art, and it can be pricey. I think it was well worth the money and it is just beautiful to behold, and it looks stunning in my garden. That plastic blue heron that you see in many of my pictures is about 40 dollars to buy new at the pet store in town, but I did not buy the plastic one, my pond friend in town gave it to me a few years back.

Colleen, Cool Huron! I like your yellow flag. I'll have to look for some. I bought some sweet mint today and put it in my pond. It smells great. I was looking at some plants also that had a lemon smell. One was for making tea.

Thanks Keith. We have lemon mint that grows wild here and makes a nice tea. The lemon mint grows all over my back yard like a weed. It is good to use what grows natural, as that is freshest. The aquatic mint should grow good in your pond too and it is very hardy for me and comes back each year nicely.

My yellow flag is growing like crazy now, every day it growss a couple inches. It is hard to believe that it grows to over my head, not to many yellow flags do that, and it think is gets so big cause it is loose and floating, so nothing restricts it's growth. It also gets morning and some hot afternoon sun, but not all day sun. I have been working on the front yard pond, still have lots to do, but we managed to get the garden planted this weekend. I was feeling under the weather today, had a fever and body aches, but it seems to be gone now, that it why I am up late in the night, cause I slept most of the day, just needed a good rest to fight that flu or whatever it was.

The first picture, the big koi in the top pond, swimming in the aquatic mint that just wanders all over the pond.
The next two pictures of the little pond and stream I just added of the front yard pond, kids love it...
Last picture, the middle pond, white flower petals rained all over from the apple trees. Now the choke cherrys will bloom and their flowers are very small, but they have lots of little flowers and when they fall next week, it will look like confetti falling!
