Hi everyone,

My names Nick. I live on lovely Long Island, NY. I keep many fish tanks and have decided to venture out and plan on building a backyard pond for the upcoming summer. I am TOTALLY clueless, so I’m here to learn and take advice from everyone I can. My tentative plan is for an angular modern looking pond, possibly concrete with wood accents. We’ll see how that holds up after being on this forum for a while! I’ll include a picture of what I’m thinking (but larger). Thanks to everyone in advance for answering my bound-to-be silly questions

If i was to build a garden box pond it absolutely would have a picture window in it so you could see the fish.
A bog would be on the list as well it would take up a lot less real-estate.
Maybe some aqua scape stacked slate walls https://www.aquascapeinc.com/stacked-slate-wall on the back side of the pond have it add o2 to the water, as it drops back into the pond.

Welcome to our group!

We love to be arm chair helpers on a build. Start a construction thread when you get going and ask questions. Might get a ton of different answers but then you pick what you want to do.
