He's cute though and stopped to pose for me lol of course the posing position I didn't have my camera ready for lol before he scampered off onto the neighbors yard behind their garage.

This little cutie climbed this sunflower and munched away. He stuffed himself for over 10 minutes, as fast as he could get a seed.

Oh very pretty birds those yellow finches. Wonder why they hang like that? Must be something to do w/ the trees or safety, like they can eat and watch for predators at the same time

Fishin, is this the tropical you sent? It does not open at night, but does open in the am just from a hour past daylight until 8 am or so, not open long at all but it sure is pretty.

The leaves are the crinkly ones at the bottom of the picture.

There it is! Yep, It will settle in and start opening around a hour before to a hour after dusk and may stay open to as late as 10 am in the morning, I would give it a lily tab if you haven't recently, If it does as well for you as I expect in this heat you could easily see three foyr or even five blooms a day once it really kicks in. Wow, I really am surprised it bloomed this year. I'm hoping I can get my red flare and ceylon pinks to bloom.
Do you remeber which one I sent you? Emily Hutchings or Rosa De La Noche? Almost certain that is Rosa De La Noche. Emily Hutchings the leaves are a little more bronze. They are both very similar.

You just said it was a pink night bloomer, so no clue, it has crinkly jagged green leaves.

How deep should it be, and does it need a lot of pond room?

Mine do best at about 12" deep when blooming, drop down deep though come winter if your not going to try and bring in. They take up a fair amount of room but can be mixed right in with the other lily's. Biggest ones I have may cover 5' radius most slightly smaller but I have seen bigger as well. I'm almost certain that is the Rosa De La Noche.

I thought tropical tubers died if not brought in, our water goes to freezing temperature for the winter. will bring the tuber in for the winter.

Beautiful lilies Sissy! so glad they bloomed for you. I planted a few of those orange trumpet vines, just pulled them up after reading how they take over, esp they were near our septic field, no need to cause problems. Do love the passion vines, but don't have any here, they can be so pretty. So many things do take over, just like poison ivy!
