Trying to educate myself on best pond setup has made me more confused

@GBBUDD makes a good point. Get brighter bulbs than you think you want and just wait for algae to cover and soften it. I went with 3 watt bulbs. I’d also plan to place them where it’s easy to brush the algae lens.
