It’s a lean year. My mom sent me two packs of socks I really like, all soft and warm, and sturdy for work. I got the nieces and nephew gift cards, dad and hubby got new coffee cups, candy, dad got socks like I did, he likes his too, hubby got car stuff. The guys couldn’t find the waffle maker I wanted, so I bought a cheap one. And that’s it this year.

Why do holidays hit when we are broke?

hubby and I shared a slow cooked prime rib.....that was our Christmas, our presents being together and healthy.

Did give his 6 month old grandkid some bucks, no clue what to buy for a kid.

The fun now is seeing the grandkids enjoying the holiday. It's magical though their eyes. And they have started learning that giving is as much fun as getting, so we get "handmade with love" gifts... the best kind!

Our one and only grand kid is on his side and she is too young to know what anything is yet. She is a cutie.

We have four - our son has three who are 6, 3 and 18 months and my daughter just had her first baby on December 21 which is also my birthday! We are birthday twins! And number five will be here in April.

It's a wonderful time in life - all of the fun, none of the work!

Santa got me a Wisconsin Badgers hat. I've wanted one to add to my collection for awhile.

Did not get anything except the fun of being with family and that was worth a lot more than any gift .Another year of signing the family table cloth .We may need to start a new one soon .My mom and dad started the first one but it was a harvest table cloth back in 1950 and when my mom in law saw it she started one for christmas .My parents did not do christmas .We embroider over the pen names .It is great to sit and look at the names .
