Hello All!

What are everyones secret to keeping water lillies in a pond? I had three beutifull lillies last year, but it seems this year (my koi have grown quite a bit) the fish won't leave them alone and keep destroying all the pads/stems. I was thinking lava rock on top, small gravel ha proved to be useless......ideas?

the roots only go in the peagravel and yes a layer of larger 1&1/2" stone is needed on top of them to keep the koi from digging in it... lava rock i8s good they wont like the corse texture.

I have one that the koi don't touch and the other one they just destroy. I don't think I will be replacing the lilys when they finally kill them.
