You deserve a nice hot bath and a good night's sleep!

Hot shower, feet up, had to run our honey to the county fair (maybe they will sale some of it!) Now sitting here having peanuts and a drink..................

heh, I think most of us would be quicker to save our pond if we had our own backhoe...sure wish I did!! Would put a dent in kiddie swimming pool sales...

I wish I could have used it! Not enough room to get it into the spot with the tractor, so all done with a shovel and digging bar.................. and I hate shoveling.

I redid the edge, decided I didn't like the way it looked. The hornwort needs to sink again. I put the purple lily in the pond with the mayla.

The biggest problem was the down slope edge, see the red line, I have 6 to 8 inches of dirt, at the top, wider at the bottom, held up by a wood wall. The drop off is around 3 feet. Even if I could have used the tractor that is a touchy area, one bad move with the tractor's backhoe and I would lose the wall that holds the pond.

Looks great addy!

Any idea how much water it holds now?

I give you a big thumbs up for tackling this job yourself. I honestly don't think I could dig out a pond by myself.

I used a 10x15, cut off around 3 feet of the 15, have around 18 inches of the 10 rolled under on the edges, in case liner lol

Best guess is around 200 ish. I need to take the tape and get actual measurements, length width

A few hours on a backhoe, Maria, can be quite fun and you find yourself wanting to go bigger and bigger until you run out of money for the liner!:)
no kidding you start digging and just don't stop!

Maybe get the honey to spring for a smaller digging unit? Or have him make one? :)

Addy; can you tell me the name of that purple lily, and is it hardy (and if it's as vibrant as your picture shows!) as my wife was peeking over my shoulder and suddenly, I have another item on MY honey-do list!

Purple fantasy. My dear sweetie bought it for me, won't tell me what he paid, and he got two of them!
It is a hardy, and those pictures show the true color, just beautiful.

This is the one I pulled from the big pond and put in the new x-preform pond.

Really nice, addy; I'll try to ferret one out and see if it's in the budget. I think we have one more spot for a lily...btw, this one isn't like the tropicals in that the leave are huge and the spread extensive, is it? Don't have room for that kind of lily!

edit: YIKES! Just googled and you know what? Better not ask your honey what he paid---EVER!
