What do you think about this BIO Media

Well, humm, same price, doing the same sort of thing, you pick! I am using pea gravel bog for my filter, so I can't recommend based on what I would use.

For $38, you can get a 500' roll of black irrigation tubing at Home Depot. Their SKU# 531677 .
I cut them into 1 1/2" lengths and put them into a 55 gallon drum, that is the Doc Bio Filter and it works awesum. Go to my web site for photos, click on bio filter.
These cut tubes give you a lot of surface area for the anerobic bacteria and at the same time resistance that helps keep the solids in the sump until you open the 2" ball valve used for flushing.
I used a paper cutter to cut mine.

There are so many ways to save on media than buying commercial stuff

I have used fencing material, irrigation tubing, PVC fittings, bottle caps and PVC turnings, they all work.
Best of all, they are cheap.

Bio Balls work great in Bakki type showers or in foam fractionators.
