Temps are going back down in my neck of the woods, south central IL! I was heading home tonight, got on the interstate, and noticed no traffic in the other direction. Turns out a UPS semi with tandem trailers got caught up in an accident (we had 1" of snow, but it was 20 degrees and blowing ...) on an overpass and jackknifed totally covering all 3 lanes, plus the shoulders, his tractor was up against, and maybe partially over the guardrail on one side, and the end of the second trailer was against the concrete median on the other side. Not only that, but keep in mind where this happened was less than a mile after Interstates 57 northbound and 70 eastbound merged going around Effingham. That was at 5 when I saw it, and no emergency vehicles there yet, so had just happened. At 7:30 a friend who lives very close to this area said the traffic was barely crawling. Geesh ... sure was glad I was going in the opposite direction! Sometimes 1" in far more dangerous than 10"!
Temps going down to teens at night, and only 20's during the day for the next 5 days, but then slowly moving back up to the 30's and 40's by mid week next week. I'll take that! Sure has been a strange winter, though ...

If the roads are cold it freezes fast .Turns to a solid sheet of ice and cars packing snow down can be bad at times .Shady spots are worse and I hate over passes they are nasty

it looks pretty but I sure don't want it .It says here it is 40 degrees but feels like 32 so why not just say 32 degrees .It is sunny out .

Our normal temperature is 30F.

Well just got a call from my credit card company some one tried to use our credit card number to buy 12 thousand dollars worth of stuff .

They caught it with fraud alert and my card is protected and I made sure .I even checked out all the purchases they tried to make and they must live by me .The credit card must have been stolen out of my mail box when the 16 packages were stolen .The one company has the address but will not give it to me but said they were Mexican and guess what the only Mexicans on my street are the ones next door .Dumb fools you are caught

Wait wait WAIT!!!! Mitch, how can you be in the 60's, and I'm in the 20's???? That's just not right!!! Wind chill is in single digits here. Going down to single digit for high on the weekend. Geesh, I thought it was supposed to warm up this weekend. Brrrrr .... windy, light snow all day, drove the truck to work. Seems like there shouldn't be any problem with the roads, but you drive 2 miles and the road is clear and then out of no where it's covered with packed snow, just a thin layer, but enough to send you to the ditch if you are not careful.

No kidding CE we are in the low 20's and also dropping to 5 at night. Our warm winter took a hike.
