Stink bugs do not like cold weather and I learned they migrate spring and fall They hide and in the cold and can go to sleep and will wake up to find warmth . I was in a place to eat and there was a bug expert from the college there and I complained and he was telling me what they have learned about them so far . Half the stuff he said I did not understand but the parts I understood was how they were getting out of control here in the U.S..He actually said there are several kinds of stink bugs but they all do not stink .But they have also found some that can bite .I thought he was kidding but he wasn't ,he showed me pics he had on his tablet and also spoke about several houses that they are studing that have become infested with them to the point that people cannot live in the houses .They also don't like water and they die when they are upside down to long .He talks bugs and talks bugs ( I felt buggy ) :)I had to clean out the inside of the door frames every time I parked and left the truck .

Neat info sissy! They ruin my apples, I can not spray the trees they are right over the pond. I found a spray, I spray (inside) the windows once a season, it lasts for a heck of a long time. That one spray kills them, then you have to sweep up the dead ones. They poop big drops of brown.

I think a certain kind of those bad stink bugs are starting to come around our area. I keep hearing the radio garden guy talking about people reporting them. I don't want them! They sound horrid!
We have had a different kind that aren't so awful I believe.

Didn't you go on a cruise with your siblings before CE .Well have fun and make great memories and leave all the everyday things behind you .CE you keep learning things as you live and some things you never forget and some things you want to forget .
Sissy, about 4 years ago my younger brother and baby sister and I went on a cruise our aunt and uncle were doing for their kids for Christmas. They invited lots of relatives, but we were the only ones to go. Then couple of years ago we did another cruise, but was the same 3 siblings, and my kids and some of the relative's kids. That was a fun time, too, about even with adults and kids. My mom and her BF also went along, although they only ate supper with us, didn't do anything of the daytime stuff with us.
This cruise is just my 5 other siblings. All of us this time, and spouses. Three are married, 3 are not. My daughter and SIL were scheduled to go, but the pregnancy stopped that, as you cannot cruise when you are over 6 months pregnant, and she will be past that by about 2 weeks. We will meet up with them in FL at the end of the cruise, since they kept their airline tickets, and have a surprise little baby shower for them. Can't wait!!!

Well hope you have a great time ,I thought I remembered you saying something about a cruise .Addy the guy I was talking to told me the spray the have out the stink bugs they have found become immune to it .I did not try the spray because of the news reports about it being somewhat harmful to pets and people with breathing problems .I am not sure it is the same stuff though .They had the local pest company here offering to spray around your house for a pretty high cost .I opted to just swat them dead .Gosh jw I heard this guy say they were spreading but never thought that far .

Yesterday temps around 40, this morning, 14 and 26 mph winds ... not gusts, wind! Yikes! Living on my little prairie, those winds don't decrease at all either. I am off today, State Holiday since President Lincoln's birthday, and he was an Illinois man. Woohoo!!!

Took Kea pup to the SE corner of the house to go potty, and she just looked at me. LOL She did finally go pee the second time I took her out, and then later sat at the door to go out to poop. What a good girl! Quincy, the male, just runs and plays like the cold means nothing to him. He's older, though, 7 months compared to her 4 months.

Snow possible on Mon/Tues, but they have already changed that from 80% to 50% on Monday. I think everyone around here WANTS a nice snow yet, since we only had a couple small snows so far. I just prefer 30's and snow, not 4 degrees, which is what it's supposed to get down to on Monday night. Brrrrr .... glad I have plastic on windows, and anxious to get new windows in, but not in these temps for sure!

Wish I had one of those. I asked for one of those weather stations for Christmas, but my daughter says I am "ate up" with weather as it is, so didn't get it for me. Boooo .... I will ask BF to get me one for birthday in April. :) I just want to have proof of what the winds are and the actual wind chill out here. I know when I lived in the woods, if the winds were 15 mph, it didn't feel bad. Here, 15 mph winds in the winter is bad, but 26 mph ... AWFUL!

Watch what you get, some work great, some not so great. I use the Davis vantage pro2. My honey bought me some lacross ones, they work ok, but not a well as the davis, imho, for seeing on the web etc and the total amount of info you get. Costco carries the La crosse ones, around $79.00. I like being able to see my weather on the web at any time.
I think I have had a davis station for around 25 years now, different ones of course. Upgraded now and then.

This new one does uv and solar radiation.

I have the weather link ip, no computer needed to send the data to the web

I drive my honey crazy, telling him the wind chill in the winter, the heat index in the summer..............
Love seeing how hard the winds are blowing, what the rainfall is i.e. when raining hard it gives you the inches per hour coming down. Highest I have seen was 7.89 inches an hour, totals, etc etc
