Do those big windows on your house give you many problems in those temperatures, addy?
I bought those fabric blinds, double cells, they insulate beautifully. When it is this cold we drop them over night. During the day if it is sunny we warm up to mid if not higher 70's, the sun is at a low angle comes in across the living room beautifully. In the summer I shut them on a sun moving rotation, until the sun is high enough in the sky to not come in, ow the ac runs a lot lol.
We don't run the heat pump, just the small ventless propane heater in the living room, keeps the house a great temp. (We both like a cold bedroom)

I have a love/hate relationship with windows.
Love the light, hate the heat loss.

We're still technically living in the workshop with 12' X 12' windows/doors on each side of the building.
The attached lean-to greenhouse is both my favorite and least-favorite place.

We used to sleep in the greenhouse and my wife is asking that we do that again. It's very cool in the evening but we have a fireplace in there. I'm trying to come up with a plan for doing that.:)
Some of life's pleasures.:)

I can understand, no windows is way better efficiency wise, BUT I can not live without them, love the light the view.

We have it pretty much under control, our worse bill is in the summer, with the pond running and the ac we hit just under 200 a month, really not too bad.
This is with old windows, leaking door seals, etc, we still have some things to fix up

Your green house sounds cozy and warm

10 here this morning with wind chills of -15. The power went out around 10pm last night and it didn't come back on fully till about 3am. Wind gusts recorded at 50+. Looks like the ponds are ok but not going out at all. hubby gets to stay home as Medstar has grounded all aircraft.
Going to send Thompson Creek a thank you note. Love the new windows and doors. House temp at 63 with small fire in woodstove. Stay warm everybody.

We are at minus 2 degrees right now at 11:00 am. Trying to explain to my spoiled boxer that it's far to cold to go for a walk today. He doesn't want to hear it lol

So sorry about all the damage to your property sissy

Hang on sissy and be careful out there.

I feel bad saying we have such nice weather again today. We are getting the cold at night again now. Was in the 30's. Guess that would be warm to some of you.

Stay warm and indoors as much as you can till it warms up for you all.
