Geese were saying hello colleen .I actually think here we had a milder winter only really cold month we had was Feb..Even our frost came late last year .But that still can change before the end of March .These weather patterns we have been having are just strange

We definitely had a mild winter here and I sure enjoyed it. We had more sunshine too. Today started out rainy but maybe the rest of the day will be just cloudy and dry. They say it will be 60 but sure doesn't feel like it will get up that high. Oh wait it is raining again now :(

Not more snow @addy1 . It should not stick around tho I would think cuz your temps get up pretty nice during the day now.

100% chance.............so guess it is coming, warm wet air meeting cold front coming from up north ==== snow So far they are sticking with 2-4 inches.

Then 55 on Saturday, so it will not stick around and the ground is warmer now.

I managed to break up the ice in the big pond (no pounding) now have ice flows that are melting a lot faster!

I'll be watching and I do like to see it but not at your expense. Hope it just falls and then melts the next day.

Good on breaking up that ice. Now the snow won't cover it all and keep it even colder longer. You are beating it!

Someone needs to invent a sturdy snow proof strong rounded instant pop up bio-dome for all you ponders back there in the cold zones. Keep your ponds all ice free and not real cold in those winters. Easy up and easy take down. Like a pop up tent. Speaking of I just bought one for my cats for when we go camping. I can put their big cages in it when we take off and go for a hike or a bike ride. Think they will be safer in there then just out side in their cages alone open to harassing creatures or whatever. While we are at the campsite they can just be on long, long leashes near us as usual.

I am going to work on my taxes finally tonight. I waited and waited for my stock info which they don't HAVE to have out until end of Feb., then got that couple of days before vacation. Just now finally getting things caught up around here, and need to get them done, since I will get a refund, or at least I hope so! I did Tax Act online last year, and it was $18 .... WAYYYYY better than the $150+ I paid the year before to H & R Block. I was scared to do it myself, but my mom finally talked me into it, and although I had a few "bumps" along the way, it evidently passed inspection. So, this year I get a better deal, since I signed up to do it again last year, and I think it's only going to be $15. Can't beat that! Now, just need to get it started! My incentive is the temps this weekend are going to be in the 60's, and today it's just in the 40's ... get my work done so I can be outside playing on the weekend.
Also, saw foal kicking in my mare's tummy earlier this week, so she IS in foal after all. She is due in May, and I will need to fix a place for her and her foal to be during and after foaling. Going to have a mule baby ... soooo excited. ;-)

Done w/my taxes and did the using Turbo tax online. Had to use the one for use w/rental homes so cost a bit more at $40 + . Never heard of Tax Act but will check it out.

Neat you have a foal coming! So mule is from horse and donkey?

Yep, you are correct. The ONLY way to get a mule is breeding a donkey (in my case, I found a "mammoth jack" ... which is a large donkey) to a horse. If you breed a draft horse (Belgian, Percheron, Clydesdale) to a donkey (yes, they put the donkey up on a stand to reach ...) you will get a draft mule, which is really large, and has the "feathers" on the ankles (more hair around the ankles like the Clydesdale horses, etc.) and other traits of a work horse. My mare is a Paint horse, but no chance I'll get a paint mule, since her mother was solid color. I am, however, crossing my fingers and toes to get white socks/stockings! That will be icing on the cake. Clyde has 4 stockings. Socks only go halfway to the knee. Almost never see a blaze on a mule either. So, I'm actually dreaming of a match to Clyde, although I do not plan to keep the baby. The reason I bred my mare was to be able to sell her as a brood mare, since she has arthritis or something keeping her lame for the last 3 years. She is 16, and if I could sell her to a good home as a brood mare, I would do that.

Hey hope you get what you want and guess you will sell it to make a little money. My friend Jessie up the road has a horse she is going to get inseminated w/zebra sperm next month. She will have a Zorse.

Who knows exactly what it will look like but I will post pix when it happens.
