For me… i love sitting on the back patio at sunrise…I love:

the quiet of the neighborhood

When all you hear is
The morning awakening with softly chirping birds
The quiet rush of the waterfalls
An occasional splash of the koi

As the sun wakes up
And shares its light with nature
And the colors come to life
As the hummingbirds greet the morning blooms with a gentle kiss
And the rooftops of suburbia do their best impression of the pyramids of Mexico or Egypt …

And most importantly… the kinder temperature during the Texas 10 month summer ;)

I have so much shade now, the best time to really see into the pond is twice in the day when the sun hits it in the morning and late afternoon. Right now, that is about 10 AM and 4 PM. The water is tinted from tannins but when the sun is directly on it, you can see it is crystal clear. There is always so much to look at!

Would love to experience it in a photo if you care to share! ❤️

Pretty much anytime for me, we have a large open covered deck with ceiling fans overlooking the pond, so just crank them up and instant cool even when it is in the 90’s.

I love late spring. My pond changes daily. The toads and frogs show up, the water lilies bloom. New this spring was a baby snapping turtle who is welcomed to stay until he is big enough to damage plants or goldfish. Right now he is about 3 inches from nose to tail. I will relocate when the time comes.

Beautiful Pond! But how did a baby Snapper find your pond? Are you close to a bigger pond or lake?
