Here are a couple of pics of my cattails and elephant ears. The first three pics were taken in ealry July and the last one was taken in early May. Right after the pic was taken I had to thin them out becuase they started really slowing down the water flow in the creek. You can also see my three Koi in the last pic.

Your pond looks so lush and beautiful....everything is planted nicely :dunno:

Well I could plant out in front of it but not in back or on the sides so it wouldn't be centered very well. Next time I make a pond I will think it out better. I know we will move again before we die prolly cuz this house is too big for just the two of us and there is too much to mow. Next time I will buy w/ more treed area and less grass and put the pond in an area w/ room on all sides

Sissy and JW thanks for the comments. I started it about 6 years ago and I have tweaked it every year since. I only have one pic at night, not sure why that is and it really isn't that great of a pic (a bit blurry). I will take some more this spring once all the plants start to come in, it is quite bare right now other than a few tulips just starting to poke out of the ground.

Cat tails can be invasive, they grow a huge root mass. But with watching over you could keep them under control. In a bog they recommend putting them in a pot just to control the growth.

They grow great in just water, held upright by some rocks.
addy thank you i just split my crowded pot im going to try pot with rocks only there going to sleep now
