Someone on FaceBook posted this picture and said they were going to call them for a pond upgrade. Now, if this person was serious or not....I don't know. But I'm not sure..... I have goldfish, not "coy."

More evidence of lack of concern for proper terminology (or even correct spelling). Truly sad.

I just thought it was funny that someone posted this and talked about using them for some work. Again, I really couldn't tell if the poster was being sarcastic, but it didn't sound like they were -- the post sounded legit. There were about 1/2 dozen replies before I posted about the spelling. I don't think anyone noticed it! Then all of a sudden, now all the posters have caught on! Good for a laugh and thought you guys would enjoy it!

seems to me if they are going to do signage on a truck that they would make sure the spelling on everything is right ,.The word coy they are using means a whole different thing ,You pay good money for those .Also forgot to mention that his vent visors over the windows of his truck are installed wrong .I have seen lots of people stick them over the window frames .I used to do those and that is not how they are installed.

....just goes to show ya!

I get tickled when I read posts [not just here, but all over Google, etc.] where people use "coy" instead of "koi." Same for "kois" as the plural for "koi." I guess if you've never seen the word written before in your life, you wouldn't know. Oh, wait! How does an "expert" get to be that way if they've never researched their topic....? Just goes to show ya! And another one that gets me: "shubumpkin." Not to make fun of people, but [and I'm sure I'm in the minority here] I look things up....a lot....in the middle of reading something.

Don't you ever just want to reply to a post with, "It's KOI, not COY!" or "You have a pond full of KOI, not a pond full of KOIS!" And it's GRAMMAR Nazi, not GRAMMER Nazi!

In a word, YES! My latest rant is the misuse of the apostrophe and people who make every plural a possessive - "We have three dog's" or "I have a bunch of rock's and plant's". OH IT BUGS!

And the "professional" signs with mistakes are just the worst! I saw a truck with "Every day is Saturday when your retired" painted on the back. Apparently YOU'RE retired from spelling correctly, too! Typos I can understand, but people who do these things for a living should know better!

Phew... I feel better now!
