external 55 gal. bio filter

So..I'm at a standstill with my pond, which is in mid revamping, I've been debating on wether or not I'm in need of a 55 gallon drum biological filter or not since I will be having a bog with plants...i will be having a skimmer with a submersed pump in it that goes up to the waterfall/filter skimmer that spills into the bog than runs down a maybe 5 ft. long trail into the pond..any and all advise would be helpful...and hopefully not costly .. :goodnight:

I've got a small bog and inpond filters, but as soon as I save up some more money my external bio filter will begin construction. I found the most amazing (and expensive) rain barrel at Home Depot that matches my house perfectly. I'm just going to sit it on the deck, no one will even look twice at it, but yeah, I say do it.
