It was guess I should have typed that lol. I went out with the flashlight and watched it for a while, doing a good job at cleaning up all the dead bees (when it is warm the undertakers remove any bees that have died in the hive) There were a bunch on the ground. He/she enjoyed the free meal!

I misunderstood the initial egg laying date and Mrs. Decorah Eagle now has two eggs! If a third egg comes, it'll either be Wednesday or more likely Thursday.

If you look at the information on their webcam page from 2011 to 2015, you'll see the eggs are almost always laid between 5pm to 9pm, and the third eggs tend to be laid around 6-8 pm. Also, the third egg is generally laid four days after the second egg, while the second egg is laid 3 days after the first. That information is what I go off of each year to try to catch the eggs being laid. Hatching, on the other hand, is much more difficult, and you just have to be lucky to see it. Both this year's and last year's first egg was laid on Feb. 18th, so I expect the first hatch to be around March 27th.

13 bald eagles were poisoned in Maryland?
They found 13 dead on a farm, at this point that last we heard, was they were trying to figure out what killed them. The thought is poison. Over on the eastern shore.

People are jerks, someone was probably losing chickens or something. Or it could have been "accidental"
When I lived in arizona we had nesting hawks near my house, someone shot them because they were raising birds.

I saw that story yesterday. I'm not surprised. A very low percentage of people are willing to live on this world with other animals. There's very little respect for any other animal species other than human. Sometimes a person will kill an animal simply because they see it. That's one of the reasons why I share my experiences in nature as well as my interaction with wildlife, perhaps it'll somehow rub off on others and they'll see the value in other species and think twice about everything before they do it.

Decorah Bald Eagles have three eggs again this year!

I spent some time watching the new Decorah North Nest, but let's be honest, these Eagles aren't celebrities like the original Decorah Bald Eagles.

With it being 65°F, I decided to spend some time in the woods. After about a mile walk, I sat down on a tree along a vernal stream that was more like a babbling brook today. Robins are hunting worms, Red-winged blackbirds are back. Oh, Spring, you've been missed. I had nowhere to go or nowhere to be so I must've sat there for nearly an hour. It was great!
