First of all, nice pond! Love to see folks getting in there with their finny kids!

Take your time cleaning up and getting the pond back in order. It takes a bit to get everything ticking again. Don't add any new fish until you feel everything is back to tip top shape.

I have cheap Goldfish I bought at Wal-Mart 2 years ago that are still swimming around in that pond. A family of black comets that came with the pond when we moved in and are thriving
Did you ask them older fish if it would be ok to add some buddies??????Maybe there kickin' the newbies asses while you'll gone........................ computer humor.
heres a tip...do not add new fish to a pond during regular feeding time.
And when looking at fish [regardless] of how clean there holding tank looks, make sure the fins on the back are up ,thats a sure sign of a healthy fish.
