Re: the 90° elbows: you can undo a few screws on your pump and rotate the volute 90° to make it discharge to the side and eliminate the lose fittings.

@Landman One possibility for the slamming noise is you have a 3" line coming off the pump that's reduced and choked a little with the 180 degree turn from the discharge going vertically to the street 90's turning the flow downward and then reduced to multiple 2" lines off a 2" pipe.
it looks like they are all reduced in flow by the ball valves which helps but a 2" line on average allows just under 5000 gph that basically means there's a 1000 gallons per hour per 2 inch line. In short the pump is trying to send full volume yet its choked down to 5000 gph Your pump is having back pressure where for the most part is not a bad thing but if your pushing a 10000 gph pump your loosing gph
Thanks for the reply but the hammer is happening when I shut the pump off and the water in the pump when I open the priming pot loses it's hold and runs backwards out to my skimmer box and my suction grid creating the hammer so I think but not sure maybe my flapper valve has an issue. My pump is an 8200 gph I'm sure I loses a little with the reduced fittings but it doesn't look like much.

is almost double what a 2" line can push without getting into high pressure
Thanks for the reply I'm still a newbie at some of this stuff. The pump recommended to me first was 6800 gph but my waterfall box is almost 25' away from my pump and almost the same with my bog so I asked for the next size up for the same price. I am wondering your thoughts about how much the water I have now in my stream and waterfall and return jests would change? maybe I could put this 8200 pump on the new section of pond I'm thinking about and put the 6800 on the existing line because it sounds like from what you said that this pump is doing what the other pump would do even though it should be more but is being choked.

I am no expert in fluid dynamics. When i look online for flow rates through x size pipe the average has been around 4800gph. 25 feet away isn't the end of the world it's more vertical height where head pressure starts to add up. After all any pipe will drain water through 25 feet easily with no energy needed , gravity is doing the job. Now when you add horizontal, along with height, now your looking at 8 pounds you have to lift for every gallon in the pipe. so say it is 10 gallons that's 80 pounds but as you lift the pipe up the 8 pounds per foot goes up. ie head pressure.

What size pipe is on the pump from the manufacturer ?

From looking at the video the flow does not look like 6 or 8k gph. Your flow looks more in line with 2 or 3 k. is there water getting under the waterfall rocks?

2" input and output on the pump. I've seen that video an I wonder how far away the pumps are from the falls. I double checked my waterfall is 26' from my pump about 3' higher than the pump the bog is 27' from the pump.

I’m not caught up in this whole conversation, but the inlet/outlet size on a pump does not correlate to the size pipe you should use. That depends a lot on how it’s used, how long the pipe is and what you are trying to achieve.

Most pumps are manufactured with the smallest viable outlet size to save cost and simplify manufacturing across multiple models.

I was told that with the pump I have I could probably see 6000 gallons in my waterfall including the jets but she forgot that I added the bog so maybe 5500.

I just finished my bridge and I love it, need to do some gravel work on one side still. It's wide on one side and narrow on the other inviting one to a journey. I had some 6" beams left over and I decided to saw one down to make the arched bridge beams and my skill saw only went so deep, I had to use a hand saw to cut through the center. The bridge ended up being longer than expected and it hides my stones but that s ok I guess. I also started putting together new plumbing to fix the leaking plumbing and I haven't completely figured out why the air is being sucked in on the other side of the pump but I did have a happy little accident. I overfilled the pond and water filled the hole behind my skimmer box 90% sure that the connection at the skimmer is bad so I thought if there is water around that connection the air would not be sucked in but as I turned my jandy valve all the way to the right and then back all the way to the left the water that shot back up that right side pipe caused the pipe to jump up out of the elbow slightly and water came out so now I know why that side has a small amount of air in it and I have to dig out more around that connection and re glue it. My pump has not shut itself off since adjusted to have less water coming from the skimmer box which floods the pump with lots of air so for now most of the water is coming from the bottom of the pond. Also I ordered a few 4 leaf clover plants they look cool and I will be putting one in my bog the others in my stream and waterfall thy just shipped out today. Just a side note I ordered the wrong 3" elbows 90's instead of long sweeps boy this project has been killing my wallet.

Coming along nicely starting to see the end game
Thanks this is the first time in 40 years that this corner of the yard will be finished. I'm super exited even though half of this project looks like a disaster still lol.

Don't get comfortable as soon as you get things looking good you'll come up with changes. At least that's been the way around here for five years

I finally finished redoing my pump station plumbing and I don't have any more leaks. It was very stressful because I'm not the best at gluing pvc and I was sure even after doing some overkill measures that something would have an issue. So far since yesterday no leaks have been found, very exciting. I also figured out why there was air in my plumbing these two pipes that come from the pond were never glued  not sure why but I think I dry fitted them and forgot. Now that they are fixed there is no air in my system and now I can start finishing up my project finally. Talk about cold water I emptied half of my pond and climbed in :cold: so I could put my last light down in the bottom and I thought it would be a quick process but I couldn't find the pipe my dad fed a wire down and finally I found it boy were my feet cold after that. Here is a shot of my waterfall at night what do you think as there are two dark areas in the middle that I did not have much room for a light but I don't like that it's dark in those spots so I may need to do something.
