JW nice looking flowers, my land lilies always get eaten by the rabbits.

Thanks tmann, we have rabbits here but not very many yet
You can sprinkle chili powder in a circle around plants to help deter rabbits. The rabbits will get the chili powder on their whiskers and nose and usually stay clear of your plants. You can also sprinkle blood meal around the perimeter of your garden. The rabbits will take offense to the smell and stay far away. Don’t worry – it doesn’t smell bad to humans. Both items will need to be reapplied after rain or heavy watering :umbrella:

I should call these morning lilies, they only open as soon as light shut around 10am.

Well still cool and still pretty. Took a few snaps of a few lingering blooms around here today and of course the annual peaches trying to ripen up:

J.W. ( and anyone else); I should point out the problem with using chili powder to deter animals. It is common practice to sprinkle cayenne pepper on bird seed to prevent squirrels from hogging it all. Some years back a lot of blind squirrels were being found in our area; it seems that the powder was irritating their eyes, and in desperation the poor things were scratching their own eyes out! I don't know if chili is as potent as cayenne, but is it worth the risk? John

Yikes that's horrible. Maybe just use the blood meal then. Problem w/ the blood meal I think it will attract carnivorous animals..................you just can't win can ya?

I feed the little guys, squirrels, birds, plants, fish, what ever wanders by, even the rabbits. Have enough plants they have not been destructive. Even the deer are behaving.

That is horrible about the squirrels, it must have been so painful, just think of the pepper hitting your eyes, it burns like all get out. an animal would never understand that.
