How about garage or basement floor epoxy from Menards? It's a little expensive, but I think it would be safe and I know it would be extremely durable. It usually comes in just a light gray, but also tan and maybe other colors. just a thought.

We painted a carport floor for a neighbor down in florida, got the supplies from home depot. They have a bag of flexs, that you throw into the paint while wet. Made it look really nice, sort of granite like.

http://www.homedepot.com/s/seal%20krete%20flakes?NCNI-5 The stuff we got was in a bag. I used two bags to have a lot of flexs in the paint. Do a small area at a time, since you want the paint to be nice and wet.

I agree that would look very cool we have our garage done with one of these kits ;)
