I just wonder about flushing the drain periodically, mainly in the fall. Water gets cold. In the summer I wouldn't be worried, not many leaves falling ind if it did a quick dive would fix. In the fall??? just make sure you can flush if needed. I think you can close the skimmer door and it would draw just through the BD.

Have you looked at either a vortex, or sieve or drum for pre-filtering? You get something to seperate the solids out before your bio filter and your going to have one killer system!
