I don't mind cold as long as the ice and snow melts fast .I just don't like it when temps .get up into the 90's during the summer .I just want to get done with the decks before all the mowing starts up .We usually only get really cold weather during January and February .As long as I can get outside for awhile I am fine .fresh air and sunshine

We have .25 inches of ice covering everything, covering the 2 inches of snow that fell! It is beautiful but slippery! We have a huge rain storm coming from the south, bringing warm air and rain instead of snow. Now we are under a flood watch with the snow, ice and then rain hitting us. We are heading up to 45 degrees.

Pouring rain here this morning. This is after -50 F wind chills this weekend. I went ice fishing yesterday. Drove about 1 mile or so, across Lake Champlain. There was at least of foot of good quality ice. There was constant, loud noises coming from the ice and water. At times, I felt the fishing shanty tremble, when the ice cracked. While I have experienced these noises since I was old enough to fish, I never knew what causes them. I have heard them when it's real cold, and warm as well. The fishing was terrible. Between myself and the boy I took, we caught 5 perch.

After a completely average December and January, it was so average it was odd. we hit the average high and lows almost every day. Nothing above or below normal. Which means we have been hitting highs in the 30's for most of the year. until yesterday. Yesterday we hit 50 and today we will be in the low 50's and tomorrow in the high 60's. We have had about 4 feet of snow total over December and January and it looks like at the accumulation will finally melt off after today and tomorrow.

The dogs are happy, they have been cooped up in the house now for months. Our shelter dog is outside laying in the sun as I type this. I asked and he refuses to come inside LOL

Here come the sun, do en doo doo, here come the sun

I say, it's alright doo do en doo en doo doo

After two days of bone-chilling cold, we're back up to the freezing mark or just a tad over! Got a thin layer of ice last night, then around 3" of rather gritty snow. LOTS of people in the ditches (So I've heard.) but I have no need to go anywhere. Sweety goes back to work tomorrow, so hopefully the roads will be OK! I believe the weatherman is calling for 40 F by then.

Our big pond iced over for the season on 12/24/2016. As of today it is completely thawed. So this year we had just shy of 8 weeks of ice on the pond. Which is an extremely long time compared to prior years. Especially since we left everything running for the first time.

Well power was out after 2 am ice and wind storm tuesday morning .Marty's trees came down and he was told 30 years ago the trees had to go as they were only 3 feet from the road and set back is 15 feet from the road and all 6 of them had gotten huge .He could have transplanted farther back ,but no he is stubborn .# of the 6 that were under the power lines came down and the other 3 were partially out of the ground .Now he will have to pay the power company for damages and time and removal of them .I had to go out to get something to eat since dummy me did not get propane for the grill last week .Then today after temps in the 50's yesterday the snow is history .Turned the pumps back on yesterday and this morning all is good
