This poor 34 year old guy was spotted on a highway about 20 miles east of me.
He works in the trades. The speed limit of the highway he was on is 65 miles per hour.
Thankfully donations have come in that will fill his family's freezer and get him a reliable vehicle.
Can you imagine? No matter how hard you may think you have it, someone is worse off.
It certainly makes a person thankful for what they have.

Just saw the long term forecast suggesting we may see low temps below 0°F next week. Wow. We never see weather that cold in December. That's usually a late-January type of thing. So weird after having months of above average weather. Even today it hit 40°F, but it's in the 20's now and doesn't look like we'll get out of the 20's any time soon.

Minius 18 Fahrenheit or Minus 28 Celsius, take your pick! Equally Freezing cold and this for sure is the coldest day of the year for me!!!

Weather man Lied!! He said it would only be -25 Celsius!!! Thank goodness I got those upper cold frames over the ponds as they really help keep the ice away !!

We're having unusually cold weather here too. Normal temperatures are around 32f/0c but we're consistently at -10f/-23c.
2 days ago a senior (80 years old) fell while getting out of her car near me and a family member didn't find her for an hour.
It was too late, unfortunately.

Good Grief it's even colder now!!! Saw Minus 20 and thought for a second that it had warmed up... Then realized that was -20'Fahrenheit on my cell phone!!!!
Minus 29 Celsius (and that's without wind chill) for Canadians!

It's just a result of La Nina this year Colleen.
Last year we had El Nino, so we had an unusually warm winter. This year it's reversed.
As the climate changes, we will keep on seeing bigger swings in temperature extremes.
This year, bundle up!
