Still snowing... Cleaned up the driveway twice and will be doing it again. The drifting has made everything twice as bad. Patio area will have snow on it until March, no way to remove it all. The back edge of the storm on the map is near, but now we have to worry about lake effect snow which could add even more than what we expected.

The weather has been brutal here all of last month. Many nights to -20 F A high of 2 degrees yesterday. 2 snow storms this weekend, and two more on the way. More cold weather coming too.

Still snowing here. We did one pass with the snowblower and it took 2 hours... and it already looks like we did nothing...but on the lawn/areas we didn't clear, the snow is up to my hips from the drifting. The pond is all good--I've knocked snow off the de-icers three times already, but other than that, the falls are running, the fish are still active.

The schools here finally called off for tomorrow. No work for me! Not like it's a fun day off, though... we have to finish clearing out here, go clear out the driveway at the old house, and then help my father-in-law with his driveway. We rigged up a makeshift ramp so we can roll the snowblower in and out of the pickup truck tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is staying safe... The roads are still really bad all over northern IL.

The schools here finally called off for tomorrow. .

I anticipate the schools around here will be closed tomorrow too, especially since the blizzard warning was just extended to 3am. Actually, I'm pretty surprised that they haven't called off school yet. Plows are already so behind schedule. No way the roads will be safe enough by the time buses start running around 6am.

There are only a handful of schools open tomorrow... and out of those, most are delaying their start time to 8:40 or later. A couple of my friends' kids' schools backpedaled... they said they'd be open, then they changed their mind. Good choice--I can't imagine the roads being cleared early enough for teaching staff to drive in, much less for families to get their kids to school.

@teeemkay As I was reading your last post they broke news that one county is shutting down schools tomorrow. I expect the rest to follow, probably soon. They tend to make their decision in time for the news to share it.

I got hubby wrist blood pressure monitor and with all the things I have read to help lower blood pressure and cholesterol we are both at normal range now .I add extras to all of our food to lower both .High cholesterol triggers all kinds of other things that can go wrong .
Hubby does not have high cholesterol, his cholesterol is very good. Too much salt and alcohol and road rage makes his blood pressure high I think. plus he is not active when at home. (Couches it too much). I try to get him moving but it is hard, he loves to watch TV and rarely gets off it when he is off work. I really do everything around here, (he now helps out with dishes) :)
but I love that couch potato and he is happy these days so I am happy!

We have the wrist thing too and his blood pressure is much better these days now that he is not so stressed out. His blood pressure was out of control when he discovered the cancer three years back, and I really don't know how he survived that awful surgery three years back. He is not drinking so much any more and he is learning to not stress out so much over my driving! Ha ha ha!

You guys down there with all that snow stay home and stay safe!

Here it never got below 53 last night and now 56 degrees .Colleen it is usually around 5 or 6 months and are you getting her fixed .There are growing numbers of female dogs that are not fixed getting cancer .I guess it comes from there breeding and other factors .Here they like to fix them earlier because they feel it is better for them
