Imagine this scene. I'm sitting in living room around 2 this afternoon, snow has pretty much quit, and I hear thunder ... LOUD thunder! The house was shaking, and I jumped out of the chair, wondering what in the world was happening! Then I saw it ... avalanche from the roof. Good think no one was under it when it happened. I know the horses have experienced it with the large barn roof, because when the snow on that roof shifts, they jump fast!

That's the thing with metal roofs, snow slides off them fast.
If you have gardens where the snow piles up, you might consider installing snow rakes on the roof above those gardens.

Just took my kubota out and pushed the snow off our drive, it is around 200 feet long. The snow light and fluffy, easy removal. Pretty out there!

Addy- wish you come and do mine! We got 8" here and as usual I am a snow widow. Hubby stayed at work last night so I get to do the shoveling. Front porch, sidewalk and a path up the steep driveway to the road. I'm thawing out by the woodstove before round 2 of snow removal. He will need someplace to park tonight.

Just a light dusting of snow here last night. Pugged in pond heater overnight. Warmer temperatures to above freezing for tomorrow. Spring is just a few short weeks away now, trying to cheer up and get excited. Just thankful we don't have it as bad as you guys down East.

Still bright and sunny here! All I care about is no rain. It is a nice break for us at this time of the year. This winter could turn out to be better than our Summer, no kidding, one just never knows here. We could have rain continuously all Summer so I am really enjoying my time in the sunshine while I can.

Well it won't last long down there Sissy, sounds like your ground is not frozen too hard if it is melting fast. Spring is coming and I found another old little bird cage in Basement, (Hubbys old junk from 30 some years ago) and I will fix it up and plant half of it up so when I catch another Fairy flying around, will have a nice cage to put them in... he he he!
