I was reading about the info on septic tanks up your way JW and you are right .They say because of all the rain and higher water table in some areas they say septic tanks have actually backed up into houses and if you don't have flood insurance the insurance company can opt out giving you any money for repairs from damage .Using a regular washing machine is frowned at and you can be denied because of having one by some insurance companies .Some do not even like above ground pools because of them breaking .I guess the ground being saturated with water all the time from rain can be as bad as drought areas where foundations are cracking

I didn't even know about all that sissy! Fortunately we have really sandy soil up here so stuff drains really fast. Area's w/ lots of clay I bet are ones to really be concerned about here. We don't have flood insurance or earthquake insurance. We will take our chances.

Our septic system is all down hill from our house, tank, field etc and the yard keeps going down hill. I have not used a regular washer in years, well except in florida house.

My septic tank guy in arizona said rid x and that stuff didn't do anything. I have added stuff off and on. When we pulled the top it was in perfect shape. I do baby it, nothing bad, like paint, drywall mud etc etc. That gets cleaned outside.

We don't even put food down ours except tiny pieces that get cleaned after we empty the strainer and rinse it off.
Raining very lightly now. I don't care,my back hurts anyways so sitting w/ the heat and massage chair pad going. I lifted a big metal thing and moved it w/the wheel barrow and think I strained it some. Heat and massage feels good.
Stay warm you cold peeps!

We don't have a septic field with our set-up, just a direct discharge out of our septic tank.
We were able to do that because of how much land we have here. I'm sure the forest appreciates the extra nutrients.

Another warm day here, got up to 48F.

It made it to about 7 degrees here today. Another night of record-breaking sub-zero is ahead of us... then a slight warm-up (but with snow) on Saturday... and then the last I checked there is a forecast of -10 AGAIN for Sunday night?? I hope that's incorrect. This seems way too late in the season for sub-zero weather like this.

School was closed again today. I'm glad it looks like we'll be open tomorrow, though--we have a field trip scheduled and I do NOT want to have to go through the trouble of canceling a bus, canceling and/or rescheduling our children's theater tickets, etc.
