I was down working in the basement earlier and heard on the news about the heavy rain so pulled the hose and lowered my pond by 3 inch's and it came down hard here for almost an hour and just looked and my pond is at the overflow by 2 inch's and it is still raining hard

Thanks addy, I'm glad it is done.

You don't have anyone that could hold the boards for you sissy? If I was near I would help you.

Hope you all don't get flooded out by all that rain back there. Sissy and addy you are both up high so no worries except keeping the fish in your ponds maybe?

They would need to wiggle past a flat layer of rocks that is around a foot wide to get out of the pond. I might lose some fry off and on, but the big fish would have to work hard to get out.

JW, I think it's amazing that you dug that pond under the roof area, and hardly disturbed any of the plants on the outside. If I understood it right, you moved your pond there, right? I just love that! Looks like you have enough plants that you could divide and transplant and cover that dirt area in a jiffy! I'm sure you have a plan ...
Got light drizzly rain all day yesterday, only amounted to .5", but that's fine with me. This morning it's VERY windy here on my prairie. Temps dropped 10 degrees for the week. Instead of 70/50's, it's now going to be only 60/40's. Darn! Only plant I moved inside is my aloe, which was NOT happy with me for putting it outside last week, with one night going below 50. :)

They say we could get more rain today but it is clouds mixed with sun and it supposed to be 81 degrees and then 70's and 80's most of the week .I am sure glad I got my grass mowed and trimmed and just got back from my walk and talking to a couple of my neighbors who have flooded basements .Well what do they expect Haymore built those houses .Mine is bone dry I am from Nj and know how a basement should be built

@CountryEscape yep plants were there and had to be careful and moved some when put that first pond there and this time I had to move some too cuz I wanted to extend it out a bit so the rocks could go around the edge just right. Happy w/it now and Azolla is happy too. Not sure frogs will like it cuz the Azolla is taking over. Have seen frogs on the edge but too hard to see among all that Azolla. Oh and my little transplanted Oak tree is budding out now, Yay! It made it!

Man @sissy you got dumped on big time! We need to get our lawn mowed today cuz the rains are coming here in the next day or two but just showers as usual. Gonna be nice and warm today and over 70 :)

It will be over soon and you can back to Spring. Good you lowered the pond level and hope you don't have to run out there in the rain to lower it more.
