I loved living in Arizona for the years I was there. I did a lot of hiking, camping, wide open, great open space, beautiful colors of the rocks Maryland is claustrophobic compared to Arizona.

But it was worth the move to come back east to marry my most wonderful hubby.

CE I don't know what they are. They are just about 3 or 4 inches long.

Just went and looked it up and they are called Pacific Tree frogs but they say they spend most of their time on the ground. Said they come in brown, green and copper gold. They can be distinguished by the dark eye stripe. Very common from sea level to mountain elevations over eleven thousand feet.

These pix I got off the internet showing their different colors.

31° and snow on the ground yet I just saw two frogs. One had its head sticking out of the water and the other was sitting on a rock. That is so odd, and worries me a bit. The reacted normal when they saw me but I just find it odd.

Guess the frogs are gonna do what they are gonna do JB. Not much you can do about it so don't worry. They evidently don't think it's that cold yet. Wonder how cold your pond water is?

I don't know, but I do need to get a thermometer for it. my only thermometer right now is downstairs with the fish.

I'm talking to a guy on social media that works with amphibians and reptiles along with their habitats on a daily basis. Hopefully he has an idea if this is normal or if something is off, and what it might be.

Here's hoping the frogs know when to go find a nice place to sleep for the winter. I know you would be sad if they didn't make it.
