Had no fountain last year. Wasn't going to go with one until I saw the LED colored one, had to have it. Go as large pond size as you can design and budget wise. Surface area is more important then water depth. In other words the same volume of water is much better stretched out and shallow apposed to smaller surface area and deeper. I'm sure you know this, but thought I just add it in.

Size is 22 x 35'. 2' deep for most of it with a 5' x 6' spot at 3' and 4' x 4' spot at 4'.

Wish I had space for a pond that big. I'd imagine it took a full day to fill. I'm wanting a 12'x20'x3' pond next year.

This is my backyard. I took this video about 1 year ago in a make shift test pond for the Kasco 1400. The pond was built using some cinder blocks and a painters liner which is not used for ponds but is perfect for temporary uses. Anyway within the next year hopefully I'll have purchased the EPDM and begin digging. Of course I've been saying that for last 2 years LOL. Anyway that fountain in the video is what I'm planning on installing.

Interesting, I read that a 16 x 20 x 2' or 3' pond is a good size for managing water chemistry for a natural balance. Not to small and not to big. Read up on that & maybe squeeze in that extra 4 ft.

Grass is in!!!!, well not all but enough for this year.

I didn' think any time left, but weather is good until late october.

Need ideas for plants & shrubs around the waterfall and pond edge. What type will look best where etc. Please also look at my other photos for closeup of waterfall area.

Very nice pond!

I'm thinking a bunch of grasses and maybe Horse Tails around the edges. Something to hide the filter boxes some.

I think a lotus would look good to the left of the waterfall in that curvy, cove like section.

Thanks, any names for these plants? Plant them close to the pond edge or back a bit? What would work good at the waterfall rock areas? Not doing the inpond ones yet.
