I love your greenhouse, looks so nice and cozy and green!
Last spring I had filled my dugout with feeder goldfish, (big dugout at least a couple meters deep in one spot) I added an air pump and a strong water pump and left it for the winter.Hi! Most people here on this forum may know me by now, I'm Colleen from Canada, and I have been wintering my pond for the past 20 years, I will post regular almost daily pictures and "show and tell" you everything I do, or do not do. So far have been very successful, watch this thread and I will take you through the harshest weather in "planet earth" and watch slowly as my pond freeze's and comes back to life each year.... stay tuned! Winter's coming here very soon!!
@Rudy#### I would suggest you start a new thread with your question. You may get some answers here, but you'll get more directed to your question if you post it separately.Last spring I had filled my dugout with feeder goldfish, (big dugout at least a couple meters deep in one spot) I added an air pump and a strong water pump and left it for the winter.
I regularly checked to make sure they were still running and not freezing to the bottom but when spring came not a single fish survived.
Any idea what I did wrong?
The top pond does have some plants but they have died back. They regrow every spring. Just two plants in top pond, a bull rush and another white flowering crawling plant that smells nice but temporarily forgot the name. Will come to me later hopefullyYour green house has come so far.....plants are fish tanks are doing beautifully. In your top koi pond outdoors, is it planted, or no plants?
I've kind of ignored my pond this winter, it's got a solar cover over it and I can't really see my fish, so just make sure the aerator and Pond Breather are running and check the water levels.
Yes must tend to this channel moreLove your pond and greenhouse vids! Always looks so fun and lovely! Don't stay away so long![]()
We had a ton of snow back in November and early December that I thought would never melt, but then weather turned mild for a while and most melted. Today is very cold now, and extremely cold temperatures coming tomorrow and this weekend. Light snow fog right nowWow, no snow now?? Very unusual I think. I guess it is all south of you this Winter. I love your greenhouse and all that is in it. You have done a great job with it, so unique and cozy and colorful! I always enjoy your videos and see them all on your channel.

Yes, have the heater in ponds or I won't sleep good and not worryOh my, that sounds soooooo cold. I think you will be using pond heaters? Much of the US will be in the same cold coming from Canada. Keep warm,
Barb
