Nope, happy to say there are no bears here. The town built "greenways" between many of the communities so the wildlife have corridors to call their own. My property backs onto one of the greenways and this particular pair of owls seems to live close by at least most of the year. My next door neighbor has an array of bird feeders, so there are lots of squirrels, chipmunks etc. that the owls might find attractive which is likely what draws them here so often. Lucky for me. :p

Yesterday we had an owl getting a sip at sunrise (no pic - the Blink must have blinked)

and then this handsome Coopers Hawk stopped by for a drink at the bog. https://photos.app.goo.gl/FdEbi1ZnhuGgDnZG8
and then there must have been a busload of Cardinals that dropped by for a bath too.

OKAY, I may lose my mind with excitement! One of the pair of barred owls just sat on my lotus tub for 20 minutes before opting to plunge into the bog --- in BROAD daylight!
Every penny I spent on the camera was worth this video :p

That's awesome! I've never seen a barred owl in person but I hear them at a place I camp. Love their sound.

I know! the crazy thing is that shortly after the bath the pair of them started calling each other :) For those that haven't heard them, they say it sounds like " who cooks for you?" https://photos.app.goo.gl/vmXw6cVLTT2mMN5m6

I just love seeing and hearing them :)
