The iris I had blooming and just finished are Caeser's Brother Siberian (I think) irises. They grow and multiply like crazy here! I've separated and moved and shared so many of them and still have bunches! They are a dark purple, and bloom profusely, probably last a little longer than other types of iris.

Thanks for names, Addy! I never had this type of irises before, thinking I have a few that are ready to bloom, one that just did bloom last week that is a pale purple. Need to try to find some more colors, maybe at clearance time. Love your whites and the deep red is gorgeous withe several flowers going up the stem.

Can't recall what this plant is, thought it was iris coming up.

That is a Sweet Flag, not an iris, and the long spiked leaves can be crushed and you can exact the sweet oils from it to make soap and perfume!!! Try crushing the leaves in your hand and enjoy the sweet smell!

lol just remembered ! Thanks colleen, it does have a great smell...................brain was having a lapse. I have put so many plants in don't always recall what is what.

That sweet flag is really growing everywhere, I might need to remove some next year but sure enjoy how it looks. The leaves are around 4 feet tall. There is a real sweet smell down in the bog, the forgetmenot and the sweet flag.

I may have some of that and am going to stick it in the pond somewhere and see how it does. I think mine is variegated tho. It might be something else tho. It got all brown so I trimmed it way back and will see if it grows back better. Maybe it doesn't like it in regular dirt that dries out as it was turning brown on top.
