I love those little squirrely critters!
We have a feeder just for them, my lil girl goes crazy barking at them, then either ignore her or play chase. They are totally safe up on the railing of the deck.

We have a pair that have their 4 pups at the bird feeders. So much fun to watch the little ones.
Our garden rabbit problem just got taken care of. I've had live traps out for 2 weeks. A pair of red tailed hawks caught one of the rabbits this morning but couldn't get it off the ground. I got my camera and caught this guy trying to steal it. The hawk ended up winning.

Neat! We don't have red tails here, that I have seen. Our hawks are the smaller variety. They go after the frogs, mice, snakes, birds, squirrels and probably the small baby type rabbits.

I would've loved this little guy to stay in my yard, but he started coming on the deck and digging that close to the house could've caused severe damage.
Hubby took him about 6 or 7 miles away, to a State Park, is that far enough for it not to come back?

We still have to relocate the mother and his SEVEN siblings born this year

We have one that lives under the garage, one under the pole barn garage, one under a small shed. I trapped for years and relocated they just come back, at this time just ignoring them.

We move ours about 3 miles. They don't come back but others do! Once the word is out that there's a good place to eat, everybody shows up!

Yeah that is what I mean they get replaced by others.

Just saw my first Orchard Oriole ever! It landed on the feeders. I don't have any oranges or nectar out so it didn't stay more than 10 seconds.

Oh boy! Missy found herself a friend! Is it a box turtle?
How neat @addy1
What do you do w/it now? Does it get to stay?
It is a eastern box turtle. They wander around wild here. When I mow I keep a good eye out for them so I don't hurt any.
Missy is such a hunter very few things miss her eye or nose.
It was gone about 1/2 hour later
