Ladies, PLEASE! This is a family-oriented forum!!!! But seriously, the coldest I have ever experienced was -40, give-or-take a degree. Running on snowshoes, breathed too deeply, and got frostbite on my vocal cords! That put an end to any singing career I may have had!

If I am Ukrainian, and Christmas comes on the seventh of January, does that mean spring comes later to! Ha ha, leaving my tree up till after New Years, still smells nice!

Happy to report Pond doing all good here, lots of ice but large open pockets of water still flowing nice under the ice! Heater turned off today, weather is nicer today. :)

My neighbor is Ukrainian and she gets that nice long extra Christmas after she celebrates the 25th one too............not fair! Think I'll become Ukrainian. Spring comes the same for her, really late here if we even get one...........usually rains forever till July

Our snow is melting, the aerator line quit running two weeks ago, but the pond is open.

The only danger I can see Addy, is if a big heron comes fishin, now that the fish are exposed and the plants have died back and the water is so open. Lets hope the big heron is out of town on vacation somewhere down south!

Meanwhile here in Canada, the snow is really falling fast, got 3 inches of brand New Years snow so far this morning! Plastic Duck in bottom pond is swimming again cause it really warmed up last night and I should have unplugged the pond heater last night, but I didn't, now the ice cap melted in the bottom pond and most of the ice is gone!! Oh well, when the sun comes up I will get pictures!!

We had a heron visit last winter, January. I have deer fencing over the walk out area of the pond. The anti heron fencing is still up around the pond. Just the net over the entire pond is down. It would sink with snow landing on it. The deer fencing has sunk in the walk out area, the only place the heron could land and fish from. It is partially under water, partially out of the water. I think all is fine right now, The fish hang out in the 5 foot area when it is this cold, seldom leave it.

If you look real carefully you can see the deer fencing the end closest to the camera.
