STARTING TO HATCH

just started my first batch of brine shrimp...because this years eggs have started hatching...lots on the walls and mops etc.. and already some free swimmers. all are white...good sign there....heres a couple new born pics.... not great pics but not a great camera. more to come as they progress...

never saw them hatched before and will be interesting to see them as they get bigger .The only shrimp I have ever seen is on a plate

sissy...the koi fry are all white,,not the brine shrimp. the brine shimp are almost to tiny to see with the naked eye, and theyre orange. the koi fry eat the brine shrimp.
j.w... dark or peach colored new fry are of closer genetics to their wild conterparts and are less likely to develope nice colorations or patterns.

Thanks for splaining that koiguy. Learning little by little about koi raising from all these babies being hatched by everyone. Hope they turn out lovely for you!

oh...i just reread my first post. i guess i forgot the word "KOI" in the sentence, ."because this years eggs have started hatching......"

O.K...So a few more hatched since yesterday....can you guess how many are in just this picture? just a portion of the fry in the tub...may need bigger accomodations..

My guess is 1,562 little ones and koiguy when you get them counted let us know :LOL:

they just wont sit still long enough to count j.w.... oh sure, they'll let ya get to maybe 500 or so, then suddenly scramble !........lol
